Core Responsibilities
Labourers perform a wide range of tasks that vary by project:
Site Preparation & Maintenance: Cleaning and clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures like scaffolds or heaters.
Material Handling: Loading and unloading trucks, and transporting materials such as lumber, traffic signs, pipes, or tools to specific areas on-site.
Mechanic Assistance: Helping mechanics by holding parts, passing tools, or accessing materials like motor fluids.
Equipment Operation: Using hand and power tools (drills, saws, plate tampers) and occasionally operating small heavy machinery like skid steers or pressure washers.
Seeking individual for full time laborer position. Applicants should:
Have a valid class 5G driver’s license
Own a cell phone and have reliable transportation to work.
Be able to pass a REQUIRED drug and alcohol test
Be willing and able to work long hours, as needed
Be willing to work weekends and out of town
Be physically fit (shoveling and raking will be required)
Applicants should also:
Be good team players, but also able to work independently
Be mechanically inclined
Be punctual and hardworking
Be detail oriented and organized
Show a strong commitment to health and safety compliance
Be able to keep equipment interior clean
Must be familiar with City of Saskatoon
Position subject to a three-month probationary period. Wage is negotiable and will reflect applicant’s experience and performance. Benefits available to be opted into following probationary period.
