Personal Care Aide - Home Care
Job Description
Personal care and hygiene to residents including ambulation and convalescence when necessary.
Offer companionship to residents
Assist with disabilities
Administer/monitor medications
Offer assistance at meal time
Laundry services including bedding
Dressing and undressing when necessary
Assistance with bathing and personal grooming
Housing/janitorial duties, ensure a clean, orderly, safe environment for the residents
Encourage exercise
Social activities
Requirements
Home management experience is an asset
Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities, convalescent care or in a related field is an asset
Punctual
Attention to detail
Patience when dealing with elderly people
Experience dealing with dementia is an asset
Strong communicator in English
Team player
Able to work independently and part of a team
