About this role
🏗️ Assist masons with laying brick, block, and stone on residential and commercial job sites.
🧱 Mix, carry, and supply mortar, grout, and other materials as directed by the crew lead.
🔧 Help set up, move, and clean tools, scaffolding, and work areas to keep the site organized.
🚚 Load and unload materials, and move supplies safely around the worksite.
🚦 Follow health and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
🧹 Clean mortar smears, debris, and excess material from finished work and surrounding areas.
📋 Support general site tasks such as measuring, marking, and basic preparation work.
🤝 Work closely with the masonry team to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.
Requirements
💪 Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
👀 Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn masonry methods and site standards.
🤝 Good teamwork and communication skills on active construction sites.
🛠️ Comfort using hand tools, basic power tools, and construction materials safely.
🚗 Reliable transportation to and from job sites is an asset.
🚦 Ability to follow directions, safety procedures, and worksite rules consistently.
🎓 No formal post-secondary education required; previous construction or labouring experience is an asset.
