About this role
🏗️ Install, repair, and replace commercial flat roofing systems on low-slope buildings across Edmonton and surrounding work sites.
🚦 Follow work-at-heights procedures, fall protection requirements, and site safety practices at all times.
🔧 Prepare roof surfaces, apply materials, and complete flashing, membrane, and sealing work to manufacturer and company standards.
👀 Inspect completed work for leaks, defects, and quality issues, and make required touch-ups or repairs.
🤝 Communicate with foreman, crew members, and clients to coordinate daily tasks and job-site priorities.
📋 Read and follow plans, specifications, and instructions for commercial roofing projects.
🛠️ Use roofing tools, hand tools, and equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition.
📚 Support and train newer crew members by sharing roofing skills, techniques, and safe work practices.
💪 Other duties as required to complete the job properly.
Requirements
🎓 Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience in construction or roofing is as asset.
⏳ 3 years experience with commercial roofing, especially flat roofs and low-slope systems, is required.
🚦 Ability to work safely at heights and follow fall protection procedures on every job.
💪 Physically fit and able to lift materials, work outdoors, and perform demanding manual work.
🤝 Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to transfer skills to other workers.
🛠️ Familiarity with roofing tools, materials, and common commercial roofing installation methods.
👀 Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality, leak-free work.
🗣️ English communication skills sufficient for site instructions, safety discussions, and day-to-day coordination.
