Shop Labourer / Carpenter

About this role

Summary

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Labourer is responsible for performing general duties in the shop and yard. The individual will take direction well and be able to perform physically demanding work.

Hours

Various shifts available, all full-time 40 hour per week (overtime often available).

The current shift options are:

Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 4:00pm

Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30pm
Friday - Monday 5:30am - 4:00pm

Job Duties

  • General labour work at our shop location in Saskatoon

  • Load and unload materials

  • Prefabrication of wall and flooring systems

  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment

  • Work with team in the shop to complete projects within established timeframes

  • Ensure shop safety is maintained and safety documentation is completed

  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements

  • Maintain open and clear communication with your supervisor to establish goals, timelines, and expectations

  • Help maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yard areas

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent (an asset but not required)

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in construction or carpentry work

  • Valid driver's license and vehicle to get to work - There is no bus/public transit to our location, employees must be able to get to work without relying on public transit.
