About this role
π§ Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical issues using test equipment, road tests, and customer concern descriptions.
π οΈ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on brakes, steering, suspension, cooling, exhaust, and related automotive systems.
βοΈ Complete tire service work, including mounting, balancing, rotation, repair, and seasonal changeovers as required.
π Document inspections, repairs, parts used, and recommended follow-up work accurately in service records.
π¦ Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area at all times.
π€ Communicate repair findings and timelines clearly with service staff and, when needed, directly with customers.
π¦ Order, identify, and handle parts and supplies needed for scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
β Verify completed repairs for quality, proper fit, and roadworthiness before releasing vehicles.
Requirements
β³ Experience as an automotive or repair mechanic, preferably in a busy tire and service environment.
π Completion of secondary school is required; post-secondary automotive training is an asset.
π οΈ Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostic methods, and common repair procedures.
πͺ Ability to lift heavy tires and parts, work in a physically demanding setting, and stand for long periods.
π Good attention to detail and commitment to safe, accurate workmanship.
π€ Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced shop environment.
π Valid driverβs licence and reliable transportation to the worksite.
π§° Ability to use hand tools, shop equipment, and computerized diagnostic tools safely.
