Fish Processing Plant Labourer

About this role

  • ๐ŸŸ Handle, sort, and move fish and seafood products safely throughout the plant.

  • ๐Ÿงผ Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and processing surfaces to maintain food safety standards.

  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Assist with packing, labelling, and preparing products for storage or shipment.

  • ๐Ÿ” Inspect product for quality, defects, and proper handling during processing steps.

  • ๐Ÿšฆ Follow workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.

  • ๐Ÿ”ง Support basic operation and setup of plant equipment as directed by supervisors.

  • ๐Ÿค Work cooperatively with team members to meet daily production targets.

  • ๐Ÿ“‹ Report equipment issues, product concerns, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
    ๐Ÿ‘€ Other duties that apply.

Requirements

  • ๐Ÿ’ช Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and work in a fast-paced, cold or wet environment.

  • ๐ŸŽ“ No formal education required; secondary school is an asset.

  • โณ Experience in fish processing or general labour is an asset, but willing to train the right candidate.

  • ๐Ÿ‘€ Strong attention to detail when handling food products and following instructions.

  • ๐Ÿค Ability to work well with others and follow directions from supervisors.

  • ๐Ÿšฆ Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and good hygiene practices.

  • ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Ability to communicate in English.

Terms of employment

Full-time permanent position with a probationary period. Shift work may be required based on production needs.
