About this role
🛒 Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently at the cash register.
💵 Handle cash, debit, credit, and mobile payments while following store payment procedures.
😊 Greet customers, answer basic questions, and provide courteous service throughout each transaction.
🧾 Issue receipts, process returns or exchanges as directed, and maintain proper transaction records.
📦 Assist with front-end stocking, bagging, and keeping the checkout area clean and organized.
🔍 Balance the till at the beginning and end of the shift and report any discrepancies promptly.
📣 Support teamwork with supervisors and coworkers to keep the front end running smoothly during busy periods.
🚦 Follow all store policies, loss-prevention practices, and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements
🎓 Secondary school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
⏳ Previous cashier or retail customer service experience is an asset.
💬 Strong communication and customer service skills.
👀 Good attention to detail and accuracy with handling money.
🤝 Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
💪 Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items as needed.
🛠️ Basic computer and point-of-sale system skills.
